I’ve got questions: Why would you offer such a huge piece of whataboutism to the folks who already believe that we have more important issues than including minorities and women* in our spoken and written languages? The fact, that so many men* are applauding this text of yours, doesn’t irritate you, does it? Why hide your very own contempt of everything related to Gender in an article on how to make the world a better place? Why deliver such an eloquent absolution for all the sexist, misogynist, racist people out there? You could have said all the things you did about a “new deal” and about solving the world’s most pressing problems without ranting on people who engage in a more inclusive and fair language — but you didn’t want to, did you? You wanted to kill two birds with this one stone of yours and make these people a collateral damage of an allegedly smart piece on inequality. Am I wrong?
